Association de Lutte Contre la Pauvreté et le Sida

| The Association de Lutte Contre la Pauvreté et le Sida (The Association to Fight Against Poverty and AIDS) was founded in April of 1999 to improve the lives of women in Cameroon through special areas of focus such as education, health, farming, economic development and women's rights . The organization serves primarily rural women who are the most oppressed due to poverty and lack of education. Viewed by many as "objects" these women often face homelessness, prostitution, and abuse. The organization is currently fundraising to open a multi-service center for women. This center is crucial because it will serve as an office and a safe meeting place for women to learn and gain support. |
