Welcome to Our New Interns and Volunteers

Ashley Miller

Ashley grew up in a small town in the central valley of California and has been living in Santa Barbara for five years. She recently graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) with a B.A. in Communication and a Minor in Global Peace and Security. Ashley currently works for a catering company and as a part-time nanny. Ashley says "I am not ready for a 9 to 5 job and I'm busy exploring different opportunities in order to get an idea about what I would love to do. In November Ashley will be traveling to Australia for three months. She enjoys yoga and being outside as much as possible and she feels she is at her best when she can help people. Ideally Ashley would love to work for the United Nations or for an NGO to make a difference. "Who knows where I will be in five years but that is part of the excitement in my life."

Hilary Willams

Hilary grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended De Anza Junior College where she played soccer for two years before transferring to UCSB. She began her time at UCSB as a Dance major before deciding she wanted an education which focuses on current world issues. Changing to Global Studies has opened a huge door for Hilary in terms of her career goals. She would love to find a career which allows her to travel around the world working with a non-profit organization that focuses on aiding the underprivileged of the world. Hilary's goals include learning at least two foreign languages and at some point returning back to school for a doctorate degree. She is currently working at the El Encanto Hotel as a valet as well as co-coaching an under-eights boys soccer team. Hilary's work with Jagriti International is providing her with invaluable experience in the field as well as motivation and inspiration to travel and help the less fortunate!!

Stacey Lang

Stacey attends the University of California at Santa Barbara and is a Junior who is double majoring in German and Global Studies. She has been working for Jagriti International as an intern over the summer and in the Fall is spending a semester studying abroad in Madrid, Spain. She wishes to learn Spanish and experience a different lifestyle and culture. In January Stacey will be returning to UCSB and Jagriti International to continue the eye-opening and inspiring job.
