My daily dairy of 11th November to 16th of November in WEV.

Like the other Monday, Myself, Scotty and Mickie has been to the Elementary school about India Nepal and what Jagriti International doing and helping the womens' organization. We spoke to the students of the grade 6 showing the maps of our countries. They have lots of question about the daily life of the Nepali student. They amaze to know that in Nepal girls get married in the age below 15. They also excited to know that the student should have to walk for 2 to 3 hours a day to get the school one way. After that meeting we meet one women Susan Clark who has done lots of work in India. She just wanted to provide the consuling to for the fund raising for the organization. She is interesting because she know the third world and the situation. She is the one person that I meet in the United states and impress.

After that I went to the wev and went to the resturant near by beach to have the lunch with Terra , Christina, Erika and Marsha. They just supposed to celebrate Marsha's Birthday( they don't know before) It was sunny day, I went with Terra. We saw a bunch of Dulfin in the ocean they are like dancing in the Water. I got tired because my medicine is very strong than me. I went back home and get sleep. I think I must have rest because I am going to Santa Maria for the International women's dinner as a guest speaker. I have to also prepare for that.

This weekend I have a chance to have an interview with Christina Danlielle Asheley about her work, daily life and so on. She is working as development co-ordinator in WEV. She has started her worked with WEV about 1 year and 9 month ago. According to her she is the only daughter of her mother. She thinks she is spoiled because she got everything from her mother during her childhood. She is also the best softball player in the highschool so she got the schlorship to Long Beach. At first when she moved to the Santa Barbara she started her work in the Landscaping Architect but she never satisfy of her work. One day when she had the lunch time she came to Judy and cry that she don't want to stay there and started her job in WEV.

She loves her job which is empowering the women economically. She enjoyed her work very much because WEV is helping the women's skill to strengthen. Every women have the knowledge and power. Sometimes they need the facilitator so WEV is facilitating them. She said " women who brings life into this world'' and the best things the life being able to have their gift should have to respect others, work and be in unity is the most important things for the women's life. She is not feeling that she has not enough time and power to help the people. She is also studying in the city college educating her-self. She wants to help the people through the grass-root level which she means the development.

According to her Jagriti intership from the underdevelopment country is good but the structure should be improve. Before the intership programme she never know about the third world. She thinks if she had the chance to go to those countries she will try to study the culture and women by living with them. She is only 23 years old but she is amazing girl that I have never meet in my life having the courage, knowledge and power to learn, co-operate and help the people. She is also going to Australia for her graduation; Wish u all the best for your bright future Christina.

On Wednesday November the 11th I have been to Santa Maria with LAURA the regional program co-ordinator to attened the international women's dinner where I was the guest speaker for that. She has the smart daughter. On Thursday the day came , There were about 100 people there. They have some graduate students who testify their successful story of takeing the business class training. Marsha Bailey introduce me. At first I was nervous how to start my speech but God help me. I shared them about the situation of women and the Dalit people there. At that time I have a powerpoint presentation but I forgot about that I get crazy. I speak there for 20 minutes. I tried a lot to spread the voice of the voiceless people there. It was cool. I also sang the song which is Nepali it says

Badaliyo re sansar dherai ( the world has changed)

pheriyo Gamana ( Century has changed)

Narika pani Dhirchan re din( One day the life of the women will changed)

Pugchanre chahane ( which they desire)

Sundachu achel anakau anek( I am hearing a news that)

Ma yasto samachar, pauchau ta Aab Nari le pani

manab Adhikar( One day they will get the Human right)

I think if we walk hand in hand to make the difference in the world of women's life there is nothing impossible. Mickie told me that I have done the best there. Thank u Jagriti International who started the project like this to understand each- other by learning and sharings. When we were returning back from Santa Maria I thought that "our life is like a candle who burn it's self and give the light to the others".

Thank you very much the family of WEV, Glo and the north region for inviting me as the guest speaker. I never knows that I will do like that job in the world oneday, It's my dream which come true.

On friday we have been to the Elementary school to talk with the Kids of grade 6. Me and Scotty had shared about our country. The children are enthusiasm to know but the limitation of time. They wanted to know from us a lot about the life style and the childrens in Nepal as well as in India. We also got the letter of appreciation and thank you. You all are great student. Thank you very much for inviting us in your school to share about the difference between u and the children in the developing countries.

My emotional feelings

Being with the US women and Women organization I feel that how important ones life to make the different of the women's life. As Marsha started the WEV to empowering the women economically. " Learning by doing '' is the most important part of the study.

My hope and expectation

I hope one day I will start the organization like WEV in Nepal so women have their own property right and get the human right but I need the education first that is the only way to know the world and spread the voice of the voiceless people in the world who is struggling for the survive.

The week of the 3rd to 7th of November in WEV:

On Monday I left Marsha's house, as I was hosted by their family for a week. I missed them very much. I don't know my soul cry when I left her home.

I had attended a meeting of WEV. Every Monday WEV has a staff meeting where everyone tells their goals of the week. Afterwards, I helped Christina to mark on the envelopes, as we were to finish the 2600. I learned how they raise the funds. It was interesting because they also provided all the directories of the WEV clients to all the individual and institutional donors by post. That was my great lesson from WEV, so that every donor can know how the organization is working.

There was a delegation from Small Business Administrative, Los Angeles. They came to the WEV for monitoring and evaluation. There were three people. We all sat together and had an interaction. I wondered about the people here because they were so friendly, cooperative and always tried to help their grantee. They gave lots of ways how to make networking.

At 12:30 I got a packet of letters and some stuff from Kabita from my home. I got a letter from home. They wrote me that I had lost my job and I don't know why. That's makes me sick for the moment. But there is no way to protect for that. Anyway we should have to bear all the things happen to our life.

At night Scotty had the Indian cooking class in PATTIE FRIEDEL'S house. About 20 people were there. After a long day's work, I got the chance to meet with Christopher, Pattie Friedel, Pattie Bliss, Lisa, Morni and some of the women whom I know but I forgot their names, sorry for that. Scotty had made such delicious food. Which consist Sambar, Biryani, chicken, plain rice and Gulab jamun with puri and fry papad. It was tasteful. Marina drove me to Judi's house from there.

On Tuesday and Wednesday I didn't do much. I had tried to do stuff but I was not good in health. Why I was feeling unwell? I don't know. Me and Christina had been to the Santa Barbara neighborhood clinic for my check up. The process here is very complicated. We had many forms to fill up. Christina helped me a lot. The doctor referred me for a blood check. They had three kinds of blood check for me. She also provides me with medicine. Oh! I am tired of taking medicine. Sometimes the medicine makes me sick as it is so hard.

At the same time we had been to the post office to post the directory of WEV. It was about 500. The system here and in our country is different. They provide the sack for the packeting. They have also the special code for the post. The government also provide the special discount for the non - government organization. They have special form for the post. I feel that in a development country we don't have a system like that because people can easily corrupt from anywhere. I am still working for the proposal. I don't know how long it will take.

On Thursday I did nothing. As usual I have looked for the nepalnews.com. I found that the Maoist people had announced the government in Dhankuta, my birthplace where I live and work. That's too bad. We should have to face so many problems there. People feel insecure there. Oh my God, no-one believes how cruel they are.

I have been to the city college with Christina. Because of the medicine I was nervous so Christina drove me to home and I took a rest. I am sorry Terra! I have heard from Erika that you had came to the WEV to take me to the art exhibition from Cuba and organized the dinner for us. Where I could not come, what to do? I have no idea.

It's friday. It's the time to make just the report for the weekend.

My emotional feeling:

There are so many things to do in the non-government organization like interactions, monitoring and evaluation which we should have to start regularly.

My goals for the next weekend:

I have got the invitation from the WEV Santa Maria County. They have organized an international dinner. I am the guest speaker and the guest for that programme. I think I should have to prepare for that because I am going to raise the voice of the voiceless women there. And I will try to make the net working with the people in the Santa Maria the north region.

My expectations:

My expectation of this week is just to make the co-ordination with the women here and getting well soon because I feel how important my life for the other women in Nepal.

Journal entry date: November 1, 2003

My work during 28 October to 1 November:

I did nothing on Monday. I don't know why I felt bad in my body. I wanted to do nothing. I got a call from Ayesha Mahamood, one of the emerging leaders from Pakistan. We had a conversation after one month. I prepared the survey of my work in WEV, which helped me to find out the weakest point of myself. I saw the television news about the fire in California and attack in the Baghdad (Iraq). It was terrible. Why do people enjoy killing each other? It makes me crazy and I don't have any idea. Some people were enjoying the festival while other people were trying to take advantage of that.

Meanwhile, I got a quotation from a friend of mine. It says,
"I can not do the things
You can do.
And you cannot do the things
That I can do.
But together
We can do great things."
I think we, the emerging leaders from Nepal, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan, are all feeling that way about developing women's lives in our own country.

I got a telephone call from Lisa. She wants to have my interview for her paper. That's great. On Tuesday, I distributed the survey paper to all the staff. I started to interview each person in the office about how they feel to be working with the women; What was their happiest period? What do they think about the internship? What is their dream? Etc. Olivia, the loan distractive****, was my first interviewee. It was great to know that she was the first member in her family who went to college and got a degree. Her dream is for every woman in the world to have opportunities and a better life. She enjoys her life and work, and everything is very well with her 2 daughters, one son, and her helpful husband. She loves to work with women for their economic empowerment. According to her, the internship program is great and the women are ecstatic to know each other. But the time is too short to study.

I have been trying to make my proposal. I have been trying to reach my president through the mail for a long time but I wonder why I am not getting reply from her***. At night W.E.V. had the board meeting. I join with them. They really appreciate my courage and success but there still are so many things to do for my country and women in Nepal. God, give me the strength! I want to raise the voice of voiceless women in the international forum.

It's Wednesday-the time goes so fast. It's been one month that I have been working with the W.E.V. people. I am trying to make my diary, as well as the funding proposal for the FEDO. It's very hard for me to find out the whole budgets of all the districts. Meanwhile, I had an interview with Erika Zavala, the information system manager in W.E.V. She is the graduate and has been working in the organization from 1.9 month(???). She feels fortunate to work with W.E.V. because it helps women to be empowered. According to her, women are still not equal to men in U.S. society but educational opportunity and economical empowerment will help women to become equal. Her dream is that every women should have equal opportunity, access to everything, and protection. She says, "Being a women is great" and that we are the beautiful creation of God. She thinks that the internship is incredibly valuable and brings women together so they know the situation of women in different countries. She is also excited to go abroad and see the real life there by living with a host family.

Sorry, friends, I have not been to the business class because I am not feeling good. I needed to rest, so I went home and had a rest after taking medicine from Marsha. Bill suggested I take that medicine, as he works in medicine. I went bed at 8 o'clock, which is unusual for me.

On Thursday, everybody was dressed differently, because they prefer to for Halloween. Marsha, the executive director, and Marie Spaulding, the director of training and client services, looked totally different. Christina brought the Halloween candy for all of the staff. The day before Marsha asked me for the costume I was going to dress in. I had never worn a different costume. I had no idea what to do. But thanks to her she had a RAJSTHANI (Indian) hat and coat, which fit me. I was glad to be with them. We have had fun. We took a picture and had lunch in the Mexican restaurant together. But we missed Judy Hawkins, Erika and Mogen. They are not at the office. After lunch Erika was in the office with her costume having the horn. She looks very beautiful with a red chiness shirt. They are incredible women. They have fun as well as work very hard for the organization to accomplish their goals. Before the lunch I had a meeting with Marie about the exchange program for the women in Nepal and USA. They are helpful. They want to help me anytime and anyway, which is a great chance.

About 2:10 Molly Chizzick, from "Coastal Women Magazine" in Santa Barbara, came to interview me. At first I was scared about my English. I explained to her that I am slow in English. She asked me these questions..How I got the chance to come to USA? The situation of Nepali women as well as the Dalit people? What am I learning here? How effective is my internship with WEV? What is the different between Nepali women and the USA women? What I am doing in Nepal? What does my organization do for the upliftment of Dalit People? I think it helps me to raise the voice of the voiceless women in the world. The interview was great that is the way that we will raise our voice for the equality and humanity in Nepal. Thanks a lot "Coastal Women Magazine" and Molly Chizzik for an interview. It's a great chance. I am the luckiest person among Dalit women in Nepal. It influenced me a lot to work for the Dalit women in Nepal.

At 4:30 Mikki came to take me to the pastoral center where eight children were kept whose father and mother were at the prison. They have a good grandma there. She takes care of them very well. They are talented. Even Viecent, who is in the grade 4, knows how to use the Atlas. We showed them the flag of Nepal and India. They tried to draw. They asked us if we could prepare food for them. We probably will when we are waiting for the time to come to all our small friends.

After that Scotty, myself and Mikki) went to Carole Fox. About ten women were there. It was great chance to share and influence the problem of Nepali women and Dalit people to them. We gave a speech there. Lots of women asked the question about the Dalit and how I am working with them. Sometimes I get tired because the condition of the people there is very complicated. All the people said our work is remarkable. They are very good people-curious to know about the things. We are fighting for the equality and humanity. Some people compare it with racism but the Dalit people are living in their own country as a countless people. They have the same religion. They have the same citizen and blood but why they are living the life worse than the animals? "Thank you Carole Fox for organizing the meeting."

On Friday I went to the Santa Barbara Mission school. We have been to the grade 8. We are supposed to talk about our country, girl child and the situation of school there. Lots of children asked about the condition and the caste system. Most of the children asked me if I could move to the United States? "Is that my solution to fight against caste and gender based discrimination?" "Is that the way to show the way to the rest of the women in Nepal who are looking for the way to get out from the situation?" No, I will never do that. I can come back here to study but not to live. It will happen never and never. Life is not long. When I was in school, one of my school teacher used to say to me, Indira, if you can't become the star in the sky, be a lamp in your hut. Yes, and off course my friend I would like to be the lamp of those who are indeed in need.

My emotional feelings:

From the experience of those kind of events I feel that there are lots of things to do for the women in Nepal. All the dialogue and activity which we have done here in USA (California), gives me the idea that we are living in the next horizon. People still don't know about the caste system. I feel I need the good education as well as the skill of speaking English. But how? Is it possible by staying in Nepal (Dhankuta) No------ never, there are no people using English. I produce lots of activists in my working area but not in International forum. I would like to have the International study and there is no Dalit people having the International study degree. I would like to be the first person and take part in bureaucracy. Please Jagriti International and friends give the helping hands to Indira.

My hopes and expectations for the next week:

I am going to learn about the documentation with someone from WEV.
I am going to make the flyer of the exchange program with co-ordinate with Marie.
Also going to have an interview with Lisa as she is having the research of Dalits of Nepal for her sociology class.
Trying to finish the outline for the funding proposal for the FEDO.
Will take the personal interview with 3 of the WEV staff. That's all.

Journal entry date: October 27, 2003

This weekend we had been to the board meeting of "Jagriti International" in Malibu with Scotty and Michele. We had great meeting with them and have meeting with the other member of the foundation. I think that we got the other chance to share about work, our further plan for the Jagriti workshop and know how the organization is running. It was fun to meet with Lyndsey, Barbara, Pattie, Felice, Diana and Leslie together. We have had also nice beach walk with them. It was great.

On Monday I got the mail from Center Women for Global Institute, New Jersey, USA. They have sent the kit of celebrating the day against "DOMESTIC VIOLENCE'' around the world. They also included the name of the organization around the world. I was excited because there was one form from the special reporter from the international human right commission in SWITZERLAND. They asked me if there is a domestic violence in Nepal and request me to write the whole incident including place, time, if she got the help from the police or not and the informer. There are too many cases that happened in the rural area of my country. I chose the case of Guma Darjee who was the victim of rape by four people in the western part of Nepal because I have been to observe the case there. Still her face is in my eye looking for the justice. I submitted the case of her to them by fax. Hopefully the international people will hear the voice of the voiceless women. Also I am doing my best in the WEV. I have lots of time to learn about the computer making the document, improvement of my English as well as how important for the organization that staff should have be committed for their work. I also take part in their informal meeting about the power-dedication as Judi is leaving the office for the vacation to Brazil. They have networking in every ones computer. They have no privacy for the work for the office. That makes me crazy. That is the different in between of their country and the development country. I have also great opportunity to have a meeting with Carla Fox. We talked a lot about the situation of women and the Dalit people in Nepal. She amaze to know about that even in the Twenty one century people are fighting for the humanity. I don't know why everybody thinks that I am kidding them about the women in Nepal. But that is the reality of the women there.

On Wednesday Marsha Bailey come to me to correct my outline for the funding proposal for FEDO. How wonderful and co-operative people they are. I am little scare because she come close to me and softly she suggest me to change the word. Which is different than our country because we have such rule to talk with the director but here they behave as a friend. Anyway this kind of improving my English. I have been to the WEV class. It was fabulous but keeping the accounting ....... I am so bad that make me mad sometimes. Ok. but I will do that.

On Thursday myself, Judy and Mikki has been to the Toastmaster's club. We have the quick shopping as I am preparing the Nepali food tonight. Mikki has quick phone calls to WEV. We have been there at 10.20. I was wonder. My soul cry because they were with the flower and card. It is very hard for to believe. I have heard that in the western culture people celebrate the happiness with the champion. I got it. Dear friends of WEV all of u are my family. Actually how can I thank all of u?

Thank you Board of director and family of WEV( women economic venture), Marsha Bailey, Judy Hawkin, Erika Zavala, Christina, Olivia Rodriguez, Marie Spaulding, Anne, Jennet, Magen and all the family to share my happiness with the flower and the cards. Hope your accomplish and inspiration will help me to fight for the right for the women especially the countless Dalit women in the beautiful country Nepal.

Michele u are the great person of me. It is because of u.

In the night of that day I had the class of preparing Nepali food for the ten people. It was exciting because in our country we don't have recipe. According to Judi I prepare the recipe and Mikki help me to correct that. Finally we did and talked about Nepal and India. We have had the " Jagriti movie".

On Friday I have done nothing that day I was suppose to move to Marsha's house because Michele is going out of the town until 28th October. About 4 o'clock Marsha and her son Sam came to pick me up. Sam is a wonderful son. We had played the table-tennis and have been to the sun-set seeing from the beach. Marsha has Twin son Max and Sam. They are good and studying in the 7th grade. I met her husband Bill. Passing the time without work it's very hard but I have enough time to make the journal. I think I am having the rest too much than in Nepal.

On Saturday God protect us (myself and Marsha) because I am trying to learn about the driving in the high school parking area. Marsha told me the rule. My hand was in the handle. I started the car ... my hand was in the steering I am the always hurry person ...I did fast... the car went to the fence. Thanks to the GOD he save us. I am very sorry Marsha I have no idea. What a great person that all of u just say don't worry about that. I will never try again I promise but I will learn driving in Nepal. I will never forget that in my life. After that we had been to the pumpkin place to buy the pumpkin for the Halloween. All the pumpkins look like the artificial. How big they are. I can't sleep for the whole night because of the accident .. I have been thinking what I have done? Why I am so interested to drive? How great people are? They are encouraging me to drive even though I have had the mistake. That day was the birthday of Marsha. I don't have idea how can I buy the Flowers. As the grocery shop was far away from the house. "Happy Birthday to you and wish u all the best" Bill help me to buy the flowers. Thank u very much Bill.

Journal entry date: October 13 to October 17, 2003

This week is for the luncheon programme for my host organization WEV. Everybody were busy to arrange that programme. I got confused how can I help them. They have had meeting about the responsibility for that. I was also there. I know that we had organized like this awardee program in my own organization last June but I was scare because the system and the way of doing is different. I agree to help them. That is also kind of my learning. We ( myself and Anne ) started packing the document of WEV which include the Coastal Women magazine, Brochure, gift envelope, Business women's' magazine, information about the workshop and the programme schedule. We made about 300 for the participants of the luncheon. In the morning I have been to the meeting of the domestic violence with Marsha Bailey( the executive director of WEV). I wonder to see there the men were get involve for the work. In our country there is one popular saying that," man and women are the two wheels of the cart." They discuss how they are working and their programme. We have had also the photograph session, which I don't like.

At the same time about 11:15 Michele came to pick me up for the luncheon with Kabita Ramdas( President Global fund for women) Pattie Bliss ( Girls Inc in Carpenteria ) Katherine and Friedel ( Little town club).I went her but little sad as I could not help them. We had the discussion about the education system, Democracy, Political issue, the situation of women in India and Nepal.

After that we have been to the Art Museum for the Philanthropy programme with them Because Kabita Ramdas was one of the Penalist for that. There was the Speaker from the Rockefeller foundation. He has the paper about the "Global to local". It was emotional. They have face to face interaction for their presentation. We got the chance to introduce with them. We found that there are lots of organization in Santa Barbara working for the community but not the globally. Kabita include how Jagriti International is helping to bring emerging Leader in USA and WEV and GIRLS INC are hosting them.

The final day(Oct) came for the luncheon. I was curious, excited and emotional. Everybody was busy for that. Specially Judi and Christina have been work from the morning. It was fantastic and unbelievable. There were about 275 people. The awardee of the WEV have the testimony of their life and how WEV help them to make their dream come true. There was one woman from the Vietnam who have the business of Nail cleaning. When she told her story, her son come and say, "My mother is hero for me". That word remind me my mother whom I missed when I was about 15. I found that every women in the world have same story, same feeling, the challenge and the struggle. And how important for them the organization to empower them their ability and make them the Confident that they can do something else.

In the night Michele and myself prepared the outline for the funding proposal for the regional base workshop. Michele get one poem through the mail, it was from the Hopi elders. There is a river flowing now very fast it is so great and swift, that there are those who will be afraid. They will hold on to the shore, they will feel they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly know that the river has its' destination. The elder say we must let go of the shore Push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open and our heads above the water. And I say see who is there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, least of all ourselves for the moment we do, our spiritual growth and journey come to a halt. The way of the lone wolf is over, Gather yourselves. Banish the world struggle from your attitude and vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. We are the ones we have been waiting for !

On Thursday and Friday I had corrected the my outline for the funding proposal. I am sorry I have not been to the office because I was not healthy that day. I take a rest and make my journal.

THE LESSION THAT I LEARNT

Sometimes , I got disappoint from the life thinking how we can get ride of all the problem and why only have take the burden but I leanrt that if we have courage, passion and spirit we can change our life as well as the world.

My expectation:

I found myself that we have so many things to do for the improvement of the life style of the women and the countless people( Dalit ) in Nepal. For that purpose we need the international co-operation. I have to improve the Language and academic Qualification to raise their issue. I am looking forward to get the chance to have the education on womens' study.

Journal entry date: October 10, 2003

September 29 - I went to the WEV office and had a dinner. I have gone to the Jewish temple and have a dinner with Judy , the founder of No Place for Hate. At WEV, I met all the staff including Olivia, Judi, Christina, Marie, and Erika. At first day I have done nothing as they all are busy to arrange their things as they have moved to the new office. Lots of talk about the status and situation of Nepali women especially their rights. I felt curios to work with them and start learning with WEV. The US women have lots of freedom and solidarity. I would like to bring back lessons and start working at WEV to bring lessons back to Nepal. I will do my best for the solidarity and human rights for the women in Nepal through the economic empowerment. I met my host family, Judi and Paul and had conversations. Their smiling and heartly behavior help the guest.

September 30 - I had a meeting and met the executive board director Marsha and Program Development officer, Judi. We talked about my interest of learning. I get confused because I have lots of things to learn. I have learned about training about the fundraising, way of starting the business. The way of providing a loan to the client. I participated in the meeting of Toastmaster and met lots of people. We talked about the Jagriti International and the situation of Nepal. Everybody has the talent but they need the field of showing. I will try to start the club like toastmaster in Nepal.

October 1 - I got the budget of WEV from Judi and tried to make the budget of FEDO. WEV has the transparency budget. I will try my best to make the transparency budget of my organization (FEDO). I attended the WEV class with Marie and met friends of the class. I gain the knowledge of marketing and the way of the class and of teaching. I am thinking of making the orientation for those who are running the business by taking the loan from our organization.

October 2 - I attended the staff meetings and met all the staff including the regional coordinator. I try to learn the skill of meeting and having inspiration and acknowledgement. They have time to make the idea on how to make their organization strong. Making a budget for the whole organization is so complicated. I will start our meeting in my own organization (FEDO) like them. I want to bring back the management and the proper office material for the healthy office in the FEDO. I will make the brochure to understand how the women will get the seed money from the organization in our area. I will take back with me the knowledge of interaction and skill.

October 3 - I have shared some idea with Olivia about how WEV provides like the seed money to the client. Christina showed me in the computer how to use excel. I have been getting ideas and learning how to make tables. If we use the right technology then working will be easy. Sharing the knowledge is like gaining the knowledge. I went to a staff meeting at the Jagriti International with Mikki, the president of the Jagriti International, Marina, Jen, Lisa, Scotlin, and Stacey.

October 6 - I have learned how to do labels in the computer and I got the outline for the grand proposal. I met with Christina and Marsha through Marsha. I am excited even though it is hard. I have started to write the outline of my organization. In my organization nobody have the idea about the labeling in the envelope, I will teach them. I have been to dinner and met with Judi, Katherine, and Trisha. I was impressed of their way of fundraising. I will use the idea of their fundraising.

October 7 - Attended the board meeting and met thirteen board members. We shared about me and the foundation and situation of Nepal. I will try my best to have the written document during our board meeting in FEDO. I am still working on the funding proposal.

October 8 - Finished writing the funding proposal and joined the class of Marie about the WEV business. It was about the marketing resources and customer service. It is still interesting because the class is incredible and the idea of vision is new to me. The knowledge I gain is only for the organization. I will try to start the business class with clear vision. I will apply the idea of the board's vision in the training.

October 9 - Joined the Toastmaster's club and met president, K. Brendi Poppel. The meeting was great and I introduced myself. I will bring back the concept of the toastmaster in Nepal among women so it can help for the public speaking. I get the new point for the funding proposal from Marsha. I am feeling difficult as I have no idea how much money do we get from the INGO. I analyze the work and the status of my own organization. I have a dinner in the golf club with the founder of the art museum with Lisa, Mikki, and Scotty. She was wonderful. We talked about the situation of Nepal, caste system, and personal biographies. I will bring back the coordination for the organization.

October 10 - I get the knowledge about the fax and I handed my paper to fundraise to Marsha Bailey. I met Christina. The technique here is very different from our country.
