Patricia Eder-Friedel, B.A. Org. Development (emphasis in changing systems), Interior Design Degree (ASID Assoc.), and certified as Spiritual Mentor/Life Coach. Owner and CEO of Eder-Friedel Designs specializing in residential design projects for l2 years. In 1999 Patti created Enlightened Environments, a consulting and coaching practice focused on individual capacity building that works with emotional, spiritual & physical aspects and culminates in a holistic/integrative approach to life. Patti identifies herself as an entrepreneur and is currently involved in several projects for the “soul” purpose of bringing to light “A New Way of Being.” “The Puzzle Project” (currently being copyrighted), aims to bring “A New Way of Being,” into schools by giving children the opportunity to explore alternative ways of knowing and being in the world. Patti lives in Santa Barbara with her l2 year old son, Chris, and her dogs Kendra and Bailey. A member of the Jagriti International Board of Advisors since 2002, Patti considers her work with Jagriti and her son, her deepest passions in life.

Dr. Andina has worked as a consultant to WHO, IPPF, USAID, the Pacific Institute for Women's Health, the Global Fund for Women and others. The Founder of Jagriti International, she currently volunteers her services as Treasurer of the Board of Directors. |
Marsha Bailey, M.A., E.D.F.P. - USA

| Marsha Bailey, M.A., E.D.F.P., is the founder and Executive Director of Women's Economic Ventures (WEV) and the Small Business Loan Fund of Santa Barbara, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping women become economically self-sufficient through entrepreneurship. Bailey has a Master's Degree in Communication from UCSB and a B.A. from Michigan State University in Fine Art and Sociology. Under her leadership, WEV has grown from a small organization with two employees and an annual budget of $68,000 to a respected microenterprise development organization with 13 employees and an annual budget of more than $1 million. In 1996, Bailey was named "Woman of the Year" for the second district by the Santa Barbara County Commission for Women. WEV served as the Host Organization for Bridging Worlds Emerging Leader, Indira Ghale of Nepal. |
Kabita Upadhyay - Nepal

| Representing 2003 Emerging Leaders, Kabita Upadhyay has a Masters in Clinical Psychology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Women's Studies from the University in Nepal. Born into the upper caste as the only daughter of the manager of the Central Bank of Nepal, Kabita grew up largely unaware of the discrimination that women face in Nepal. Witnessing the health and emotional effects of familial neglect of female children through her work at the Nepal Disabled Association opened her eyes to the challenges faced by women in the developing world. Realizing her calling to work for the empowerment of women, Kabita joined Tewa (www.tewa.org.np; the only women's fund in Nepal), where she served as Senior Program Officer. Currently residing in Fremont, CA with her family, Kabita dreams of establishing a shelter and rehabilitation center in Nepal for girls and women with mental illness. |

program of HIV/AIDS control in India. This program monitors
and supports 80 government, non-government and community
based organizations technically and financially. Ms. Mehta
is a national and international trainer in sexuality,
adolescent health, gender and child-to-child programs.
She has represented her organizations at the World Conferences
for Women in Beijing and at HIV/AIDS conferences in South
Africa and Spain. |
